Darkest Dungeon II will officially launch next week on May 8 for PC through the Epic Games Store and Steam.The developer of Darkest Dungeon 2 has shared a community update revealing its content plan and release date for version 1.0 of the game: February 2023. Like the sequel, went through a period of Early Access before officially launching for multiple platforms, which included the ill-fated handheld PS Vita. The title shipped a million units in its first year of being available, which is an insane accomplishment for an indie title, let alone a AAA title. We’ll share more about future content releases at a later date.”Īs we already mentioned, Darkest Dungeon was a major success for Red Hook Studios. “We have some DLC plans, but our studio’s entire focus is on making DDII 1.0 the very best it can be. “We hope to support DDII with a combination of free updates and paid DLC for a long time,” the developer stated. Darkest Dungeon received a plethora of post-launch content and support, something that the developer plans on continuing with the sequel. Darkest Dungeon II started development way back in 2018, a couple of years after the first entry launched. Home console versions are still in development and will be released at a later time. That being said, it will be available for both the former and the Steam platform when it releases early next week. It’s important to note that the Early Access for Darkest Dungeon II is currently exclusive on the Epic Games Store.
